Thymalin (Khavinson Polypeptide Complex)
Thymalin is a Khavinson bioregulator peptide complex originally extracted from calf thymus gland, targeting thymic tissue gene expression and immune system regulation. It supports T-cell maturation, thymic function restoration, and immune competence. Thymalin was one of the first bioregulators developed by Khavinson's group and has the most extensive Russian clinical data of any bioregulator, including a landmark 15-year follow-up study showing reduced mortality in elderly patients.
SubQ injection, any time of day. 10-20 day courses, 2-3 cycles per year with 4-6 months between courses (Khavinson protocol). Pin alone or with other bioregulators only.

How it works
Thymalin modulates gene expression in thymic epithelial cells and thymocytes, supporting the thymic microenvironment necessary for T-cell development and maturation. It upregulates genes involved in thymopoiesis, T-cell receptor rearrangement, and immune cell differentiation. The thymus involutes (shrinks) significantly with age, and Thymalin partially restores thymic gene expression patterns toward a more youthful state.

What to expect
Days 1-10: Gene changes initiated.
Weeks 2-8: Thymic gene programs established.
Months-years: Sustained immune optimization. Khavinson's data showed benefits over 15-year follow-up.
Evidence
The honest take
Longevity / mortality reduction
Khavinson's 15-year study showed reduced mortality with Thymalin + Epithalon. Most compelling longevity data for any bioregulator. Methodology debated by Western standards.
Gene expression data supports partial restoration of thymic function in aged tissue. Consistent with Khavinson's bioregulatory theory.

Side effects & safety
Commonly reported
- Very well tolerated
- Mild injection site irritation
- Rare transient flu-like symptoms (immune activation)
Less common & notes
- Autoimmune caution: immune upregulation could theoretically exacerbate autoimmune conditions.
- Consult physician.
Pharmacokinetics
Storage. Standard BAC water 2-8C. 21-28 days.
Regulatory status
Not FDA-approved. Used extensively in Russian clinical medicine. Research peptide in the West.
