Selank
TP-7 · Selank Acetate
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the endogenous immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), with a stabilizing Pro-Gly-Pro C-terminal extension. Developed alongside Semax at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Selank is approved in Russia as a prescription anxiolytic and nootropic medication. It provides anxiolytic effects through modulation of GABAergic and serotonergic neurotransmission without the sedation, cognitive impairment, or dependence associated with benzodiazepines. Selank also enhances immune function through its tuftsin-derived immunomodulatory activity. It is commonly paired with DSIP for sleep support and with Semax for balanced nootropic effects.
Intranasal: Any time, anxiolytic effects within minutes. SubQ: Same timing. Can be paired with Semax. No fasting required.

How it works
Selank modulates GABA-A receptor sensitivity, enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission without directly binding the benzodiazepine site, which prevents sedation and dependence. It also influences serotonin (5-HT) metabolism by affecting tryptophan hydroxylase activity and serotonin transporter dynamics, contributing to mood stabilization and anxiety reduction. The tuftsin core (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg) provides immunomodulatory activity by enhancing phagocytic activity of macrophages and neutrophils, natural killer cell function, and IL-6 expression. The Pro-Gly-Pro extension protects against aminopeptidase degradation, extending effective half-life. Gene expression studies show Selank modulates approximately 80 genes related to GABAergic signaling, serotonergic pathways, and immune function.

What to expect
Days 1-3: Many users report noticeable anxiety reduction within the first few days. Sleep quality improvements if dosed in the evening. No sedation or cognitive dulling.
Weeks 1-4: Consistent anxiolytic effects. Stress resilience improves. Sleep quality stabilizes. Immune function benefits begin to accumulate. Best results when paired with Semax for cognitive balance.
Weeks 4-8: Sustained mood and anxiety benefits. Immune modulation fully established. No tolerance or dependence develops. Cycling is recommended to maintain receptor sensitivity.
Evidence
The honest take
Non-benzodiazepine anxiolytic
Strongest claim. Approved in Russia for anxiety. Human studies show anxiolytic efficacy comparable to medazepam without sedation, cognitive impairment, or dependence risk.
Tuftsin-derived immunomodulatory activity is well-documented. Enhanced phagocytic activity and NK cell function. Dual anxiolytic + immune support is unique among peptides.
Confirmed by Russian clinical data. Selank does not bind the benzodiazepine site and does not produce tolerance, dependence, or withdrawal. Major safety advantage over benzodiazepines.

Side effects & safety
Commonly reported
- Generally very well tolerated
- Mild injection site irritation
- Occasional mild fatigue (usually first few days)
- Rare nasal irritation if using intranasal route
Less common & notes
- Selank has an excellent safety profile in Russian clinical use.
- No dependence, tolerance, or withdrawal reported.
- No cognitive impairment.
- Rarely, mild headache.
- Individuals on SSRIs or other serotonergic medications should use caution as Selank modulates serotonin metabolism.
- Consult physician if on psychiatric medications.
Pharmacokinetics
Storage. Store unreconstituted vials frozen (-20C) or refrigerated (2-8C). After reconstitution with BAC water, refrigerate at 2-8C. Stable for 28 days. Pro-Gly-Pro modification enhances enzymatic stability. Protect from light.
Regulatory status
Approved as a prescription medication in Russia for anxiety and cognitive disorders. Not FDA-approved in the United States. Available as a research peptide. WADA status: Not specifically listed. Not a controlled substance.
