GHK

Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine · GHK Tripeptide

1-2 mg daily – 1.5-2 mg SubQ Daily
Gene expression modulatorCopper-free tissue signaling peptide

GHK (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine) is the same tripeptide sequence as GHK-Cu but WITHOUT the copper ion. It retains cell signaling and gene expression modulation properties but lacks the copper-dependent collagen cross-linking and metalloenzyme activation that makes GHK-Cu uniquely potent. Without copper, GHK has no oxidation concerns and is compatible with a wider range of peptides including VIP and bioregulators. GHK is less commonly used than GHK-Cu because the copper complex provides additional biological activity, but it serves as a safer mixing option where copper incompatibility is a concern.

01

How it works

GHK modulates gene expression through direct DNA interaction and transcription factor modulation, upregulating genes involved in tissue repair and downregulating inflammatory genes. Without copper, it cannot activate lysyl oxidase or other copper-dependent enzymes, so collagen cross-linking effects are absent. It retains the ability to influence approximately 4,000 human genes in expression studies, though the magnitude of effect is generally less than GHK-Cu.

Each reference below was re-fetched from its PubMed record, and the quoted sentence was confirmed to appear in that abstract and to support the claim it sits under. Follow any of them to read the source.

Claims we could not support

No abstract we checked supports these for this molecule at this route. That is not the same as saying they are false — it marks where the evidence is missing.

Dose/route: 1-2 mg SubQ daily. No checked human abstract administered this regimen.

Copper-free mechanism distinction. The review did not establish every claimed distinction.

Excellent safety/injection irritation. No same-route human abstract established it.

04

The honest take

Copper-free alternative

Confirmed. GHK without copper is compatible with VIP, bioregulators, and other copper-sensitive peptides. Trade-off is reduced biological potency.

05

Interactions & stacking

Two different questions: what is documented about running these together, and what is documented about drawing them into the same syringe. A good pharmacological partner can still have to be pinned separately.

Documented together

VIPNo copper = no methionine-17 oxidation risk. Safe to mix unlike GHK-Cu.
BPC-157Non-overlapping mechanisms
TB-500Non-overlapping mechanisms
IpamorelinNon-overlapping mechanisms

Keep separate

CJC-1295 with DACDAC maleimide reactivity.

Check any specific pair in the Stack & Interaction Checker, which answers both questions separately. Absence of a documented conflict is not evidence of safety.

Side effects & safety
