PE-22-28 is a synthetic heptapeptide fragment derived from the neuroprotective protein Prohibitin (PHB). It was identified through screening of PHB-derived peptide fragments for anti-aging properties at the cellular level. How it works

PE-22-28 derived from Prohibitin interacts with mitochondrial and nuclear signaling pathways to enhance cellular stress resistance. PHB family proteins are involved in mitochondrial morphogenesis, cell cycle regulation, and transcriptional control. The exact receptor target and signaling pathway for PE-22-28 specifically is less well-characterized than many other peptides in this database.
