Grape polyphenol complex refers to standardized extracts of red grape polyphenols, primarily anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins (oligomeric procyanidins, OPCs), as well as resveratrol and other stilbenes. These polyphenols are concentrated in grape skins, seeds, and stems - particularly in red wine grape varieties (Vitis vinifera). Most clinical extracts come from grape seed/skin (high in OPCs and resveratrol) or whole-fruit extracts.

How it works

AMPK activation: grape polyphenols indirectly activate AMPK (cellular energy sensor), supporting glucose uptake and fatty acid oxidation - similar to metformin/berberine pathway.
Anti-platelet effect: modest reduction in platelet aggregation, contributing to cardiovascular benefit but rarely causing bleeding issues.
