A high-quality multivitamin provides daily insurance for nutrient gaps that even careful diets often have. Despite popular skepticism, several large-scale trials (Physicians' Health Study II, COSMOS) have demonstrated meaningful benefits for daily multivitamin use, particularly for cognitive function in older adults and modest reductions in cancer incidence.
