Nandrolone Decanoate (brand name Deca-Durabolin) is an injectable anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) consisting of nandrolone (19-nortestosterone) esterified with decanoic acid. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of anemia associated with chronic kidney disease. Nandrolone was first synthesized in 1950 and the decanoate ester was introduced commercially in 1962. It remains one of the most widely studied and prescribed anabolic steroids worldwide.

How it works
