TBF
TBF ('Targeted Body Fat' or 'Targeted Belly Fat' depending on vendor) is a marketed acronym used in some research-chemical channels for proprietary lipotropic injectable blends, generally variants of the classic Lipo-C / MIC family. Composition varies significantly by vendor - typical blends include Methionine + Inositol + Choline (MIC), Vitamin B12, sometimes additional lipotropics like L-Carnitine, B-vitamins, or proprietary additives.
Per vendor instructions. Refrigerate. Modest effect; pair with caloric deficit and exercise.
Start here. Every protocol below is ordered lowest-first. Begin at the smallest effective dose, hold about a week to assess tolerance, and step up only if needed.
How it works
TBF effects (where present) reflect standard lipotropic biochemistry of the MIC core:
Methionine
Sulfur-containing amino acid that supports phosphatidylcholine synthesis (via SAMe pathway), bile acid synthesis, and hepatic detoxification. Indirectly supports lipid handling.
Inositol
Sugar-alcohol that participates in phosphatidylinositol membrane phospholipids and intracellular second-messenger signaling. Putative effects on insulin signaling.
Choline
Required for phosphatidylcholine synthesis (membrane phospholipids and bile lipid transport) and neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Choline deficiency drives hepatic fat accumulation - supplementation supports hepatic fat handling.
Vitamin B12
Cobalamin, supports methylation reactions and energy metabolism. Common deficiency in vegetarian/vegan diets.
Variable Additives
TBF-branded products may include L-Carnitine, B-complex vitamins, or other lipotropics depending on vendor.
Effect Size
Modest. The MIC components support lipid metabolism but do not produce dramatic standalone fat loss - main use is adjunct to caloric deficit and exercise. Magnitude of effect is similar to oral MIC supplementation in most users.
What to expect
Week 1-4: minimal subjective change.
Week 4-8: in deficit context, modest acceleration of fat loss.
Week 8-12: cumulative effect - diet/exercise dominant.

Side effects & safety
Commonly reported
- Injection site reaction (red, sore)
- Mild flushing (B12 component)
- Sulfur-like body odor (methionine component)
Less common & notes
- Allergic reaction to component (B12, sulfite preservatives, etc.).
- Compositional variability across vendors makes side-effect prediction imprecise.
- Vendor-specific contaminants possible in low-quality products.
- Long-term safety adequate for established MIC components but TBF-specific formulations lack independent safety review.
Pharmacokinetics
Storage. Refrigerate per manufacturer. Use within manufacturer's stated shelf life.
Regulatory status
Lipotropic injections are sometimes prepared by compounding pharmacies under physician prescription (legal in some jurisdictions for specific clinical contexts). Branded research-chemical TBF is sold without FDA approval and falls into the gray area common to compounded/research peptides.
